Meet Our Founder
Easy Peasy Therapy was founded by Elise Easdown, an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, young people, adults and families across health, education, disability and community settings.
Throughout her career, Elise has worked in public health, schools, private practice and the NDIS, while also holding clinical leadership and management roles. She is a lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Southern Cross University and provides clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development to Occupational Therapists across Australia.
Elise founded Easy Peasy Therapy with a simple vision: to create a practice that delivers person-centred, neurodiversity-affirming and evidence-informed Occupational Therapy. A practice where people feel understood, families feel supported, and therapists are empowered to deliver exceptional care.
Today, Easy Peasy Therapy is more than one therapist. Our team shares the same commitment to ethical practice, meaningful relationships and practical, collaborative support that helps people build confidence, increase independence and participate more fully in everyday life.
Together, we'll help make everyday life feel a little more Easy Peasy.
Our Approach
People do well when the environment, expectations, and supports fit them.
Our approach recognises neurodiversity as a natural part of human variation. Rather than trying to “fix” neurodivergent children, we focus on:
-
Understanding each child’s sensory, emotional, motor, and cognitive profile
-
Supporting regulation before expectation
-
Building functional skills that matter in real life
-
Adapting tasks and environments to reduce overload and stress
-
Empowering families with knowledge and practical strategies they can actually use
We draw on current research, occupational therapy best practice, and years of clinical experience across health, education, and disability systems.
Elise Easdown - Occupational Therapist & Founder
Elise has worked as an occupational therapist with children, adolescents, and families for almost 20 years. She studied occupational therapy at Charles Sturt University in Albury, where she grew up in regional southern NSW, before relocating to South East Queensland for a sea change and to settle in a place filled with positive family memories.
Her career has taken her around the world, with clinical experience in Qatar, Dubai, and South East Asia, alongside many years working within Queensland Health, Education Queensland, private practice, and the NDIS.
Elise is particularly passionate about supporting children and their families and neurodivergent adults navigating differences and impacting their level of participation and independence. WE ARE DELIGHTED YOU'VE CHOSEN US TO BE PART OF YOUR CHILD'S JOURNEY.
At Easy Peasy, our mission is clear and simple:
To transform challenges into manageable steps, and to provide the tools and support needed to make progress feel achievable every step of the way. We believe that, with the right guidance, anything can feel like “Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!”
Our Values - The Lemon Tree
At Easy Peasy Therapy, our values are like a lemon tree.
Strong roots, the right conditions, steady growth, and fruit that’s actually useful.
At Easy Peasy Therapy, we believe everyone has the capacity to grow when they have the right support.
Like a lemon tree, growth begins with strong roots, flourishes in the right conditions and, over time, bears fruit. Our role is to create those conditions so children, young people, adults and families can build confidence, participate more fully in everyday life and thrive in ways that are meaningful to them.
Our approach is person-centred, neurodiversity-affirming and evidence-informed. We celebrate strengths, value genuine relationships and work alongside individuals, families and support teams to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Strong Roots
Safety. Trust. Understanding.
Every person deserves to feel safe, respected and understood.
Meaningful therapy begins with strong relationships. We take the time to listen, understand each person's unique strengths and experiences, and build trust with individuals, families and support networks.
By creating a safe and supportive foundation, we can work together towards meaningful and lasting change.
The Right Conditions
Creating Environments for Success
People thrive when their environment supports them.
Rather than expecting individuals to fit the world around them, we focus on understanding what helps them succeed. We adapt environments, reduce barriers and support regulation so that learning, participation and independence can flourish.
We believe support should fit the person, not the other way around.
Growth
Progress That Matters
Growth is not about perfection. It is about making everyday life easier.
Whether the goal is developing independence, building confidence, improving emotional regulation, strengthening motor skills or participating more fully at home, school, work or in the community, we celebrate every step forward.
Every person's journey is different, and every achievement deserves recognition.
The Fruit
Meaningful Outcomes
The goal of therapy is not simply to attend appointments. It is to create meaningful changes that improve everyday life.
Success might look like calmer mornings, greater independence, increased confidence, stronger relationships or feeling more included in school, work or the community.
These are the outcomes that matter most because they create lasting change beyond the therapy session.
Sometimes life gives you lemons. With the right support, you can make lemonade.
Together, we will help make everyday life feel a little more Easy Peasy.
